Historical significance

"The Collegian" offered a sample of historical student perspective on numerous student issues at this private southern university, including racial integration and coeducation. In later years, the newspaper also provided primary coverage of one of the 1992 presidential debates held in Richmond, as well as the disintegration of the Greek system at the university in the face of the emerging political correctness movement in academia.
