Julio Cesar Pimentel

Julio Cesar Pimentel (born December 14, 1985 in La Romana, Dominican Republic) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Kansas City Royals.

Pimentel was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 14, by|2003.

In by|2004, Pimentel played for the Single-A Columbus Catfish. Pimentel led the team with 10 wins and led all starters with a 3.48 ERA. Pimentel played for the Single-A Vero Beach Dodgers in by|2005, going 8-10 with a 5.08 ERA in 26 games (24 starts).

Pimentel began the by|2006 season for the Vero Beach Dodgers again. Playing in 30 games, making 9 starts, he went 3-8 with a 5.69 ERA. On July 25, 2006, Pimentel was traded along with Blake Johnson, Odalis Pérez, and cash considerations to the Kansas City Royals for Elmer Dessens. He finished the season with the Single-A High Desert Mavericks, making 12 relief appearances, going 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA. In by|2007, he played for the Single-A Wilmington Blue Rocks. Pimentel made 22 starts in 27 games and went 12-4 with a 2.65 ERA. His 12 wins and his 2.65 ERA were career highs for him.

On November 20, 2007, his contract was purchased, protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft.
