Iterfall development

Iterfall development

Iterfall Development is a common practice of software development that combines attributes of the Waterfall and Iterative Models.

This model is typically adopted by teams that wish to adopt agile methodologies, however they are still required to deliver a Big Design Up Front.

Common attributes include:
* A short planning phase during which exhaustive specs and schedules are developed
* A pre-defined iteration plan, complete with firm dates and content
* A detailed Gantt chart showing the User Stories as MS Project tasks, with dedicated resources
* A wiki and a centralized document repository.
* A weekly SCRUM where people report on progress against tasks they were assigned in the prior week.
