- 4-hydroxyglutamate transaminase
In
enzymology , a 4-hydroxyglutamate transaminase (EC number|2.6.1.23) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :4-hydroxy-L-glutamate + 2-oxoglutarate 4-hydroxy-2-oxoglutarate + L-glutamate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
4-hydroxy-L-glutamate and2-oxoglutarate , whereas its two products are4-hydroxy-2-oxoglutarate andL-glutamate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
transferase s, specifically thetransaminases , which transfer nitrogenous groups. The systematic name of this enzyme class is 4-hydroxy-L-glutamate:2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase. This enzyme is also called 4-hydroxyglutamate aminotransferase. This enzyme participates inarginine and proline metabolism .References
