The Community Policy Research Group (CPRG) was set up in 2007 by the Board of Deputies of British Jews as a UK Jewish Community horizon-scanning think tank [http://www.thejc.com/home.aspx?AId=54964&ATypeId=1&search=true2&srchstr=Alex%20Goldberg&srchtxt=1&srchhead=1&srchauthor=1&srchsandp=1&scsrch=0]

Demographics

The CPRG specialises in community statistics and research on the Jewish community in the UK. They have published research in 2007 that showed that the UK Jewish Community was growing again for the first time in 60 years and another piece of research showing the probability of oversupply of places in non-strictly orthodox Jewish schools [ [http://www.thejc.com/home.aspx?AId=56275&ATypeId=1&search=true2&srchstr=cprg&srchtxt=1&srchhead=1&srchauthor=1&srchsandp=1&scsrch=0 The Jewish Chronicle ] ] [ [http://education.guardian.co.uk/schools/story/0,,2213585,00.html Falling numbers at Jewish schools | EducationGuardian.co.uk] ] .

The Board’s community issues director, currently Alex Goldberg, is in charge of the unit, leading a team of four in-house researchers and a number of associate consultant researchers.
