James Scheibel, born 1947, is an American politician who was endorsed by the
Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party . From 1990 to 1994, he served as the mayor of Saint Paul,Minnesota , succeedingGeorge Latimer .A graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota, he worked as a community organizer, as aide to former mayor Lawrence Cohen, as national organizer for the
Fred R. Harris Presidential campaign in 1976 and as deputy director forVolunteers in Service to America (VISTA). Scheibel was succeeded by
Norm Coleman . After his term as mayor, Scheibel served as vice president for theCorporation for National and Community Service and as a nonprofit executive.
