Pål Lydersen (born
September 10 ,1965 ) is a Norwegian former football player.A full back, Lydersen played for
I.K. Start , until he was signed by English club Arsenal in 1991. However, he was unable to oust first-team regularsLee Dixon andNigel Winterburn , and played only 16 games in two years for the Gunners.Lydersen's stay at Arsenal was overshadowed after 1994, when it was revealed that his agent,
Rune Hauge , had paid Arsenal manager George Graham a £425,000 "bung" for signing Lydersen andJohn Jensen , another one of Hauge's clients.Lydersen went on loan to his old club
I.K. Start during the 1994-95 season, and the move was made permanent in the summer of 1995. He went on to play forSturm Graz inAustria then back toI.K. Start and then onto Molde, before retiring in 1999. He also won 20 caps for Norway, scoring one goal.
