- Uronolactonase
In
enzymology , an uronolactonase (EC number|3.1.1.19) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :D-glucurono-6,2-lactone + H2O D-glucuronate
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
D-glucurono-6,2-lactone and H2O, whereas its product isD-glucuronate .This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, specifically those acting on carboxylicester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is D-glucurono-6,2-lactone lactonohydrolase. This enzyme is also called glucuronolactonase. This enzyme participates inascorbate and aldarate metabolism .References
