- Sinapine esterase
In
enzymology , a sinapine esterase (EC number|3.1.1.49) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :sinapoylcholine + H2O sinapate + choline
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
sinapoylcholine and H2O, whereas its two products aresinapate andcholine .This enzyme belongs to the family of
hydrolase s, specifically those acting on carboxylicester bonds. The systematic name of this enzyme class is sinapoylcholine sinapohydrolase. This enzyme is also called aromatic choline esterase. This enzyme participates inphenylpropanoid biosynthesis .References
