The Columbia Art League (CAL) is local Art League in Columbia, Missouri. The headquarters are located in the Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts in Downtown Columbia. The league sponsors Art in the Park, an annual fine arts festival that draws thousands of visitors to downtown Columbia. Art in the Park is a family festival providing free examples of fine art work, musical, entertainment and art activities for all ages. Art in the Park is held annually the first weekend in June, as it has been for forty-five years. The Park that this even takes place is in Stephens Lake Park, located across the street from the Stephens College's Stables on Old 63, in Columbia, Missouri. The CAL also sponsors regular art exhibits, member sales galleries, and a Community Exhibits Program that provides member artists the ability to provide a never-ending supply of original artwork to local businesses, non-profit organizations, and other locations for exhibiting and sales purposes. The Mission of the Columbia Art League is to provide the community with a stimulating environment for experiencing the visual arts through exhibitions, education, appreciation, promotion and creation of art.
