The Basement Boys

The Basement Boys are a dance music production team formed in Baltimore, Maryland. The trio of producers Jay Steinhour, Teddy Douglas, and Thommy Davis, all of whom had experience as deejays in the Mid-Atlantic states, began mixing together in 1986. In 1988 they scored a hit single together with "Love Don't Live Here Anymore", a single which hit #25 on the U.S. Dance Club Play charts and #31 on the Maxi Singles charts. They would go on to produce artists such as Paula Abdul, Michael Jackson, Erykah Badu, Bob Sinclair, Crystal Waters, and Ultra Naté, and began their own record label, Basement Boys Records, in 1994.
