Northwest League and its predecessor, the Western International League, beginning in 1950 as the Tri-City Braves, including as a charter member of the Northwest League in 1955. The city was continually represented through 1974, enduring a wild flux of teams during the period. (Braves 1950-60, 1962; Angels 1961, 1963-64; Atoms 1965-68; A's 1969; Padres 1970-72; Triplets 1973; Ports 1974) The final year, the Ports were an independent team, going 27-57 in front of 21,611 fans and managed by ownerCarl W. Thompson, Sr. before folding. The Tri-Cities were without baseball until 1983 when the Tri-City Triplets (an homage to the 1973 name) formed, though they only lasted until 1986.In 2001, the
Portland Rockies were acquired from Portland and moved to the Tri-Cities, renamed the Dust Devils. The team plays home games atGesa Stadium , formerly Dust Devils Stadium. Opened in1995 , Dust Devils Stadium seats 3,654 fans. Before hosting the Dust Devils, it was home to theTri-City Posse of the independentWestern Baseball League .Their current president is
Brent Miles and the general manager is Monica Ortega, who is the only female general manager in theNorthwest League .
