Renier Hollmann (
30 September 1949 ) is a German former football player and now manager.Footballer
Before coming to
Duisburg , Hollmann was in the youth section of Eintracht Duisburg. He played from 1970 to 1984 forRot-Weiß Oberhausen andEintracht Braunschweig in 350 games in the Bundesliga scoring 33 goals.He took part in the Olympics 1972 in
Munich .Coach
After his playing career was Hollmann coach for years and was the assistant of
Karl-Heinz Feldkamp .His greatest success as a coach was winning the Turkish Cup withGalatasaray Istanbul in the year 1994. Further coaching positions were, amongst other clubs,1. FC Saarbrücken FC Carl Zeiss Jena andAl-Ahly Cairo.For several years he has been in the United Arab Emirates where he worked with
Al Nasr ,Al Shabab (Dubai) andAl-Wahda FC (Abu Dhabi) .Now he is the Head Coach of
El Zamalek Sporting Club .Trivia
In 1977, Hollmann was in the Federal League game
1 FC Kaiserslautern against Eintracht Braunschweig. Towards the end of the game with the score at 0:1, he collided with the referee and was rendered unconscious, waking again only in the ambulance.
