Vienna ,Austria , located in the northern part of the city.The District Office and the centre of Floridsdorf are located round "Am Spitz", at the junction of "Prager Straße" (
Prague Street) and "Brünner Straße" (Brno Street).Since 2004, Floridsdorf has its own tower: The "Florido Tower."
The "SCN" (Shopping Center Nord) is the biggest shopping centre in Floridsdorf.
Parts of Floridsdorf were formerly villages.For example, there are Stammersdorf, Strebersdorf and Leopoldau.Because of this, Floridsdorf is mostly a very rural district with many taverns selling homegrown wine (Heurige).
History
The first settlers are estimated to have come between 4000 and 2000
B.C. Judging from stone tools that have been found, they appeared to be hunters.Around 500 B.C. Celtic people came, but were soon driven out by the Romans. For a long time it was uninhabited; it became a
buffer zone between Rome and Germanic tribes.External links
