Ivar Kleiven

Ivar Kleiven (1854-1934), was a Norwegian local historian and poet, has been called the Snorri Sturlason of Gudbrandsdal. His writing often reflects the nationalistic mood of the time. His books include "I gamle dågå", "I heimegrendi", "Lom og Skjåk", "Lesja og Dovre", "Gausdal", "Ringebu", "Fronsbygdin", "Elvesøg" and "Bånboka".

An extensive collection of his work and correspondence can be found at the Norddalsarkivet in Vågå.
