Pereira (disambiguation) ."__NOTOC__The Pereira X-28 was a single-seatflying boat designed by Eut Tileston under contract toGeorge Pereira , a private builder. It wasalso known both as the Air Skimmer which was Eut's designation and as Osprey I (Georges designation). TheUS Navy commissioned the plane through theNaval Air Development Center as part of a study for patrol missions in Southeast Asia. The study required that the aircraft be capable of flight undervisual flight rules (VFR), lightweight, cost fewer than 5,000 American dollars in quantity and be able to be manufactured in Southeast Asia. The aircraft was first flown onAugust 12 , 1970The only known surviving aircraft is now on display in the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum.
