Jimmy Rayl

Jimmy Rayl, Indiana Pacers. Born (June 21, 1941) in Kokomo, Indiana. Parents were Dude Rayl a local Pontiac dealer and Lucille a musician. Jimmy was the 1959 Mr. Basketball and 1959 Trester Award winner for the state of Indiana. Rayl went on to star at Indiana University, he was an All-American his Junior and Senior seasons. Rayl averaged 20.8 ppg for his career and still holds the IU single game scoring record of 56 points. He did this twice against (Michigan State) and (Minnesota). The Cincinnati Royals drafted Rayl in the 3rd round of the NBA draft, 23rd overall. He later signed and played 2 seasons for the Indiana Pacers ending with a career average of 11.1 ppg. Rayl still resides in Kokomo, Indiana with his wife Nancy.
