Viraja Homa

Viraja Homa

The Viraja Homa is a Hindu fire-sacrifice which is performed during the ceremonies whereby a Hindu monk takes up the vows of renunciation ("Sannyasa"). The "Viraja Homa" is thus part of the full "Sannyasa Deeksha" (monastic initiation).
