Pierino da Vinci (ca. 1529-1553), also known as Pier Francesco di Bartolomeo di Ser Piero da Vinci, was an Italian sculptor who was born in
Vinci, Italy . Pierino was the son of Leonardo da Vinci’s younger brother Bartolomeo. Pierino demonstrated talent at an early age and was seen by his family as the successor toLeonardo da Vinci . Pierino studied under bothBaccio Bandinelli (1488-1560) and ofNiccolò Tribolo (1500-1550). Several sculptures now believed to be by Pierino da Vinci were at one time attributed toMichelangelo . Pierino died inPisa, Italy about 1553.References
