- Konstantinos Varouxis
Konstantinos Varouxis (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος Βαρουξής) was a Greek journalist and a publisher.
Varouxis was born in Pyrgos and was descended from a family of journalists. The Varouxises was a key of the family
Spilotopoulos fromDimitsana in which they participated theGreek War of Independence of 1921. In 1892, he ran the weekly paper "Avgi ". Varouxis was exiled inLefkada in 1895 because he thought which the article of "Vasilevs" ("King"). He stood trial as a criminal in the island and was innocent, in the same year he ceased publishing of Avgis and from 1910 started to publish "Ileia" newspaper. It ended its publishing in 1915 in which it later becam from his large absence in 1928. He stopped entirely in 1931.References
