It is the third book of Bangs' A House-Boat on the Styx series. Its title is a mockery of the lengthy book and chapter titles prevalent in the 18th and 19th centuries, and a reference to the adventures of the original Baron Münchhausen.
In various library, collectibles, and sales catalogs the title of the book is usually truncated in various ways.
