Colonel George Marecek

Colonel George Marecek, a highly decorated U. S. Army Green Beret, was convicted of murdering his wife, Viparet Marecek. Following a 2001 six-day trial, a North Carolina jury convicted Marecek of second-degree murder after three hours of deliberation. He was sentenced to 30 years. On August 11, 2003 Marecek was paroled.
