According to HURT's Web site, "The Re-Consumation" is HURT’s first album ever recorded that is available. This newly remastered collection of songs was the prequel to " Vol. 1" & "Vol. II". "The Re-Consumation" also contains an early recording of "Cold Inside" from "Vol. 1" as well as early, alternative recordings of "Loded", "Et Al" and "Alone With the Sea" from HURT’s current release "Vol. II". The original artwork from "The Consumation" was the inspiration for the cover art of this album. The lyrics for this album are on the underside of the CD case, however, "Omission" is missing over half of the lyrics, and some lines are misplaced.

The instrumental, "Way it Was", is the same piece from the original album that went under the name "Somnambulist," however, there's whispering heard throughout "Way it Was" and apparent lyrics were added to the case, known as, The Consumation Premise.
