Advances in Ecological Research is a scientific journal which was first published in 1962 by Academic Press. [ [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?cmd=Retrieve&db=journals&list_uids=30277&dopt=full Journals Result ] ] It was originally envisaged to be published every two years, however due to the quantity and quality of contributions it began to be published annually after the second issue. [Advances in Ecological Research, vol:2, preface] The first editor was J B Cragg while the current editor is Aldo Poiani. Academic Press became part of Elsevier who now publish the journal.
The journal publishes papers on a wide range of ecology topics typically including landscape and ecosystem ecology, populations and communities of plants and animals and physiology.
