Khirlepposi ( _ru. Хирлеппоси; _cv. Хирлеппуç Мĕлĕш) is a village in
Alikovsky District of the Chuvash Republic,Russia , located km to mi|6 west of Alikovo, the administrative center of the district.Cheboksary –Alikovo–Krasnye Chetai auto route passes near the village. Population: 245 (2006 est.), mostly females; 539 (1926); 482 (1907); 141 (1859).The village has the following facilities: a club, a library, a first-aid post, and a store.
Khirlep River flows through the village.The village has four streets: Tsentralnaya, Komsomolskaya, Kooperativnaya, and Pereulochnaya.
History
The name of the village is derived from Chuvash words " _cv. Хирлеп" (name of the river flowing through the river) and " _cv. пусь" ("beginning"). "Lang|cv|Мĕлĕш" was the name of the first settler.
The village was first mentioned in July 1774, when
Yemelyan Pugachev passed near the village. First school in Khirlepposi was open in 1895.Until 1927, Khirlepposi was a part of Alikovskaya
volost of Yadrinskyuyezd . OnJuly 1 ,1927 , the village was incorporated into Alikovsky District and onDecember 20 ,1962 it was transferred toVurnarsky District . OnMarch 14 ,1965 , it was returned to Alikovsky District.Climate
