The shell is rather large, ovate to narrowly ovate, with the nucleus at about the anterior fifth or seventh. Sculpture is developed from scarcely raised radial folds in the juvenile to 20 to 24 narrowly rounded primary ribs in the adult.
The external shell coloration is greenish-grey, the radials marked out in reddish-brown, also with a dense interstitial pattern of meandering lines and streaks in the same colour. The interior is metallic dull blue-grey, with the reddish-brown external pattern showing through.
The maximum shell length is 64 mm, width 50 mm, and height 25 mm.
