"For the Nights I Can't Remember" is the second single by Hedley from their newest album, "Famous Last Words". Written in a misogynistic overtone, For The Nights I Can't Remember is about the wrong-doings of a man trying to be masculine in a world where he believes he is the only savior for the woman listener. He blames her for his erratic behavior and failure in society. He firmly tells her to stop her emotional state, telling her to "hold back your tears this time". This may be a hint towards domestic abuse, along with the line "Me, I'm used to being tired and bloody". It has reached #6 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Music Video

The music video can be seen right [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hhp4-wGH6o&feature=related here] . The video starts off with a battered Jacob Hoggard getting pictured for a mug shot. The music video then cuts to a shot of the alleged girlfriend who stares a seductive blank stare into the camera while laying down on the couch. At this point in the music video, the colors red, black and white are primary to the backdrop of the storyline. The video then cuts to Hedley performing in a night club. A cut back to the girlfriend shows her disoriented, then looking at her watch. This may be symbolic for the time wasted on Hoggard in the relationship. A scene where Hoggard gets beat up in an alleyway only shows his love of abuse more, accentuated by his refusal for help from a blond girl, who then curses at him. His girlfriend is then seen being visually upset in the apartment. He then breaks in to the apartment through the window, only to see that she is gone. She is then seen sitting in a chair reading letter with the lyrics of the song. The breakdown of the song continually cuts between him laying on a bed singing into the camera and the band playing in the nightclub. His girlfriend (dressed in red) shows up and sits down, having forgiven him.

The slow tempo and the chorus are inspired by Piano Rock and several Elton John songs.
