Henry Kamen

Henry A. Kamen, who was born in Rangoon in 1936, is a British historian. He studied at the University of Oxford and has subsequently taught at the University of Warwick and various universities in Spain and the United States. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has been a Professor of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) in Barcelona since 1993.

He participated in the famous debate (with Hugh Trevor-Roper and Immanuel Wallerstein amongst others) on the consideration that the upheavals of the Seventeenth Century amounted to a period of General Crisis.
