Hillingdon ,Middlesex ,30 March 1962 ) affectionately known as "Tea Bag", is a former English footballer. Gary attended and played for Thurston Upper School in Suffolk. He was a versatile defender who could also play in midfield.He played for Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur during the 1980s, playing in
FA Cup finals for the latter two (scoring a goal in the former, and losing both), and winning the 1984UEFA Cup with Spurs. He was also capped by England, and was called up to the 1986 World Cup squad (along, confusingly, with the Everton playerGary Stevens ). He made two substitute appearances in the tournament.He left Spurs for Portsmouth in 1990 but persistent injuries forced him to retire in 1992. He had never fully recovered from a knee injury suffered three years earlier due to a tackle by
Vinnie Jones .Following retirement he worked as a presenter for
Sky Sports . In recent years his main broadcasting job is with Talksport radio in the UK where he regularly acts as a foil for provocative presenter Adrian Durham. Gary lives In Tunbridge Wells, Kent.Honours
