"Mert Icgoren" was the self-titled debut album by Turkish singer Mert Icgoren. Due to its controversial lyrics and contents the album didn't spawn any major hits since it never got any airplay on TV. But the album has a huge underground following and some songs received airplay on radio.

Even though the album is perceived as rap and hip-hop by many, Mert Icgoren says he doesn't like to describe the style of the album to a particular genre.

Making of the record

In early 2006, Mert Icgoren teamed with Mehmet Cem Unal and Safa Hendem. The team worked on the album for 4 months and the resulting album was released on July 2006.
