John Morris Henson (born July 11, 1967) is an American comedian, talk show host, and actor. He is the co-host of ABC Network's "Wipeout", a prime-time 2008 summer series game show.

Biography

Henson was born in Stamford, Connecticut, to Joe Henson and Barbara Wright. He has four older brothers. He studied acting at Boston University, Circle in the Square, Playwrights Horizons and Three of Us Studios in New York City. He has starred in various theatre productions such as "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead", "Conduct Unbecoming", "Heinous Crimes and Other Delights", "The Greenhouse Effect" and "Remote Evolution". Henson finished high school at St. Luke's School in New Canaan, CT.

Career

Henson began his career as a stand-up comic. Although trained as a dramatic actor, his unique stage presence and style soon earned him headliner billing at top comedy clubs . He started appearing in films in the mid to late 1990s.

Henson was previously the co-host of Watch This! on the TV Guide Channel, and was the longest-running host (four years) of "Talk Soup" on the E! Entertainment Network. Henson has also hosted several broadcast specials including most recently the 33rd Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. In recent years, Henson has also produced numerous field segments on the entertainment industry for MSNBC. In 2008, Henson has done numerous cameos on "My Name is Earl".

"Talk Soup" was a daily show that sums up the best in morning, daytime and late night talk shows as well as other shows. Henson took "Talk Soup" on the road to Tahiti and Australia, performed live at the Chicago Theatre to a sold out venue.

Henson hosted approximately 1,140 shows in the four and a half years he was host.

As of 2008, Henson is hosting a Japanese-style game-show on ABC called "Wipeout."

Personal life

Henson has a patch of white hair on the right side of his head due to a chronic skin condition called Vitiligo, earning him the nickname Skunk Boy. He once made a reference to the condition in an episode of "Talk Soup", referring to it as "Spot."
