Arnold Zimmerman, also known as Arnie Zimmerman, is an American ceramic artist who was born December 13, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, New York. He received a master’s degree from the
New York State College of Ceramics atAlfred University . He rose to prominence with large-scale carved vessels that resemble totem poles. About 1996, he started focusing on salt-firedporcelain figurines which he modeled, rather than carved. The latter are primarily tableaus of many figures engaging in sex or violence. In 2005, he received a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award. Zimmerman lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.The
