Sheksna River and Lake Beloye formed by the dam of theSheksna Hydroelectric station . Construction took place in 1963-1964 as a part of theVolga-Baltic_Waterway . Surface area is 1,670 km², volume is 6.5 km³, average depth is 4 m. The main goal of the reservoir construction was a navigable waterway. The largest towns on the shores of the reservoir areBelozersk and Kirillov.Reservoir dam length is 1100 m, the dam complex includes 2 locks.
