"Livin' for the Weekend" was a popular song by R&B vocal group The O'Jays. Released from their 1976 album, "Family Reunion", it spent two weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart in the spring of that year. It was also successful on the pop charts, peaking at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. The B-side of the single, "Stairway to Heaven", proved to be just as popular. It has become a staple of Quiet Storm and adult comtemporary R&B radio.
