Services
The typical Monday to Saturday off-peak service from the station is two trains an hour in each direction to and from Grove Park for connections into London or to other stations in South East London. There is no Sunday service.
For almost a century after opening the station had direct services to London Bridge, London Cannon Street and London Charing Cross. From April 1976, this was cut back to peak service and in the 90's it was withdrawn completely. A campaign for a direct service to London has been created on Facebook.
In order to get from Bromley North to London passengers have to change at Grove Park. They have to negotiate a rickety bridge with 41 steps and this is very difficult or impossible for the elderly, disabled and those with heavy luggage or young children. Southeastern trains, say that there are no plans to reinstate the service but that work to improve access at Grove Park should begin in 2009.
Recently these services were briefly re-instated during testing of the Class 376 Electrostars by South Eastern Trains, and on various New Years' Eves when 24 hour services are run within Greater London only.Through trains from London Victoria station often operate when engineering works prevent trains from serving the busier
