Kenia Arias (born October 22, 1982) is an American R&B-Rock/Pop singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress.

Biography

Kenia has been singing since age 4. Kenia has made her rounds as an MTV dancer ("Direct Effect" [http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/dfx/series.jhtml] , "Hot Zone") and NY pageant winner ("Miss Teen Long Island" [News of Brookhaven 1999.] , "Miss Teen Talent Of New York State", Best Personality and Prettiest Smile). In addition, Kenia has also worked as a model ("Barbizon Models" [http://www.barbizonmodeling.com] , "Claire Models", "Hollywood Image" [http://www.hollywoodimageonline.com] ), shot a TV commercial for Students Against Drunk Driving, and performed in local theater productions, including "Jesus Christ Superstar" [Maselli 2004.] , "Medusa’s Tale" and "Strangers On A Train".

At the young age of twelve, Kenia started a girl-singing group called “The Lazers”. The group consisted of Kenia and two of her neighbors. And only two years later, Kenia started writing her own songs, which to this day she still considers her "therapy". At fourteen, Kenia auditioned for the dance show "Club Jam" [Maselli 2004.] , was selected as one of the dancers, and recorded ten shows. While performing on a stage in front of cameras, Kenia realized it was the only place she wanted to be. During her time as an MTV dancer, Kenia received a call from one of the casting directors and was asked to audition for a new show called "VJ For A Day" [http://www.mtv.com/onair/vjforaday/] . Over the years Kenia continued to sing and grow as a performer, some of her past performances include: The Mocasaba Resort (Puerto Rico), Puerto Rican Day Parade, Club New York [Maselli 2004.] , Showtime at the Apollo [Maselli 2004.] , The Port St. Lucie Fall Festival (Florida), Club Refuge (Florida) [La Voz 2004.] , and Dancin' In The Streets (Florida). Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Long Island, New York. She attended Tremont Elementary [http://www.pmschools.org/schools/tremont/index.htm] , Oregon Middle School [http://www.pmschools.org/schools/oregon/index.htm] , Patchogue-Medford High School [http://www.pmschools.org/schools/hs/index.htm] , and Suffolk County Community College. She now resides in Miami, Florida, where she attended Florida International University. Kenia not only comes from a multicultural background but also expresses this through her lifelong passion for music. Energetic, playful, stimulating and thoughtful, Kenia takes aim at the music scene, fusing rhythm with thought and beats with soul; jazzing up Rock, giving R&B a Latin flavor and Pop, a brain.
