lower house ), Minister for Energy Affairs from 1982 to 1990, Minister for the Environment from 1986 to 1991, andSpeaker of the Parliament of Sweden from 1994 to 2002. Since24 May 2005 she is chairman of the Swedish section of theUnited Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).Dahl studied at
Uppsala University . She was employed at the Swedish North Africa Institute ( _sv. Nordafrikainstitutet) in 1960 and later at theDag Hammarskjöld Foundation (founded in 1962). From 1965 to 1982 she was a senior administrative officer at theSwedish International Development Cooperation Agency ("Sida"), and from 1980 to 1981 she was a Swedish delegate to theUnited Nations .From 1971, Dahl was chairman of the
Swedish Committee for Vietnam ("Svenska kommittén för Vietnam").Personal life
