The first rail stop in Wellesley Farms opened in the 1830s as a
flag stop on the Boston and Worcester Railroad, which was later merged into theBoston and Albany Railroad . The first station was called Rice's Crossing. Wellesley Farms Railroad Station opened to replace Rice's Crossing in 1890. The station was added to theNational Register of Historic Places in 1986.ee also
