Sukachev, Vladimir Nikolayevich ( _ru. Сукачёв, Владимир Николаевич)(1880 Aleksandrovka (
Potsdam )-1967Moscow ) is aRussia ngeobotanist , engineer, geographer, corresponding member (1920) and full member (1943) of theUSSR Academy of Sciences .In 1919-1941 he headed the department of
dendrology and systematics of the plants of the Forest Institute inSaint Petersburg (Leningrad), (now named after him), in 1941-1943 he managed the department of the biological sciences of theUral Forestry Institute inSverdlovsk . He organized the Institute of the Forest in the system of USSR Academy of Sciences (1944, now the "Institute of Forest and Wood of Siberian Department of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR",Krasnoyarsk ), which he led up to 1959;he also led the "Laboratory of Forestry USSR Academy of Sciences" (1959) and the "Laboratory of Biogeocenology" with the Botanical Institute of the AS USSR (1965).Works
