Mousa Chegini

Mousa Chegini

Mousa Chegini (Persian: موسي چگيني) is an Iranian diplomat and politician.[1]

Chegini was among Iranian officials who were captured by American militants in US raid on Iranian consular office in Arbil. He was released after 305 days on November 9, 2007. "The Americans did not physically torture us but they repeatedly insulted us, made accusations and did not give us decent food," Mousa Chegini said after his release.[2]

"The release followed a careful review of individual records to determine if they posed a security threat to Iraq" the American officials said in a statement.[3] United States formerly accused Mousa Chegini and several other Iranian diplomats of being behind terrorist activity in Iraq.
