John Eubank

John Eubank

John Franklin Eubank (September 9, 1872 - November 3, 1958), nicknamed "Honest John," was a right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Detroit Tigers from 1905-1907. Born in Servia, Indiana, Eubank debuted with the Tigers as a 33-year-old rookie on September 19, 1905. He had a record of 1-0 and an ERA of 2.08 in 1905. He played in a career-high 24 games and 135 innings in 1906, compiling a 4-10 record with a 3.53 ERA. In 1907, he went 3-3 with the first Tigers team to win an American League pennant, but he did not make it to the end of the season, pitching his last major league game on August 2, 1907. Eubank died in 1958 at age 86 in Bellevue, Michigan.
