Sunny Boy Cereal is a
porridge , or hot cereal, made ofwheat ,rye , andflax , produced inCamrose, Alberta ,Canada . The brand name is currently owned by Schroeder Milling ofCamrose, Alberta but the cereal was originally produced inCamrose, Alberta by Byers Flour Mills, starting in 1929 It was formulated by Mr. W.H. Byers and was first intended for local consumption within Camrose and District. However, it gradually grew into a nationally accepted product.The advised method of cooking, boiling, yields an impressive output for the original ingredients. Generally, the hot cereal is made with a 4:1 water to cereal ratio, and salt.
Raisins orblackcurrants have been known to be added. For optimum results, it is boiled until desired consistency is reached, then covered and let stand for a period of three to five minutes.It is often consumed with the addition of
brown sugar andcream .Sunny Boy cereal is similar to
