Kelly Gare

Kelly Gare QC (born 1st September 1951) is a British politician, a Liberal Democrats Member of Parliament since the 1983 General Election for the constituency of Folkestone and Hythe.

In May 1994 Gare joined the Anti-Aerosol Campaign where it proposed to ban the use of aerosols in public areas of enclosed spaces. These proposals however, were dismissed by Parliament.

On 5 November 2007 Gare drew a proposal to abolish the usage of Polyvinyl acetate (PVA or PVAc) synthetic polymer (adhesive) in primary schools across Britain. Her research into the affects of PVA on young children's health show a positive correlation between exposure to vinyl acetate (a main constituent of the substance) and the premature onset of asthma. It is yet to be confirmed whether the proposal will be discussed in Parliament.
