- Arsenate reductase (glutaredoxin)
In
enzymology , an arsenate reductase (glutaredoxin) (EC number|1.20.4.1) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :arsenate + glutaredoxin arsenite + glutaredoxin disulfide + H2O
Thus, the two substrates of this enzyme are
arsenate andglutaredoxin , whereas its 3 products arearsenite ,glutaredoxin disulfide , and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of
oxidoreductase s, specifically those acting on phosphorus or arsenic in donor with disulfide as acceptor. The systematic name of this enzyme class is glutharedoxin:arsenate oxidoreductase.tructural studies
As of late 2007, 12 structures have been solved for this class of enzymes, with PDB accession codes PDB link|1RXE, PDB link|1RXI, PDB link|1S3C, PDB link|1S3D, PDB link|1SD8, PDB link|1SD9, PDB link|1SJZ, PDB link|1SK0, PDB link|1SK1, PDB link|1SK2, PDB link|1Z2D, and PDB link|1Z2E.
