- Arsenate reductase (azurin)
In
enzymology , an arsenate reductase (azurin) (EC number|1.20.98.1) is anenzyme that catalyzes thechemical reaction :arsenite + H2O + 2 azurinox arsenate + 2 azurinred + 2 H+
The 3 substrates of this enzyme are
arsenite , H2O, andazurinox , whereas its 3 products arearsenate ,azurinred , and H+.This enzyme belongs to the family of
oxidoreductase s, specifically those acting on phosphorus or arsenic in donor with other, known, acceptors. The systematic name of this enzyme class is arsenite:azurin oxidoreductase. This enzyme is also called arsenite oxidase.References
