Catholic secondary school for boys, located inWilmington, Delaware . It is run independently within theRoman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington . Salesianum (Latin for "House of Sales", referring toSt. Francis de Sales ) was founded in 1903 and is operated by theOblates of St. Francis de Sales . The current enrollment is just above 1,100 students, fromDelaware ,Maryland ,New Jersey andPennsylvania . The school has two sister schools,Padua Academy and Ursuline Academy, close by in the city.St. Mark's High School is the school's historic rival, located far away outside the city.The school's goal is to educate and develop the whole person based on the spirituality of
St. Francis de Sales , whose philosophy can be summarized in "Live Jesus." The school's official motto is "Tenui Nec Dimittam," meaning "I have taken hold (of the faith) and will not let go." Each day and most classes begin with the reciting of Salesianum's version of the Catholicprayer , The Direction of Intention. The Salesianum version reads:"My God, give me the grace to perform this action with you through love for you. In advance, I offer to you all the good that I may do and accept all the difficulties that I may meet therein."
The prayer is followed by the statement "St. Francis de Sales, pray for us." Salesianum's tuition for the 2007-2008 school year is $9,880.00.Salesianum was named one of the Top 50 Catholic High Schools in America by the Catholic Honor Roll in 2007.
Salesianum School was the first racially integrated school in the state of
Delaware , and recently was recognized for this with a historical marker. The current campus of Salesianum is located at 1801 North Broom Street, in the city of Wilmington, Delaware. The lush 22 acre campus is home to the school itself as well as a gymnasium and the Eugene A. DelleDonne Memorial Park, which serves to hold 6 tennis courts and 2 soccer fields. In addition, the park includes a football field and lacrosse field for all of the school's outdoor activities. In addition to the campus, the athletic program also makes use of Wilmington's Baynard Stadium located directly across from Salesianum.

*Salesianum has won 107 state championship sports titles. *Salesianum has twice won the Cross Country, Winter Track, and Spring Track State Championships during one school yearFact|date=June 2007, something which no other Delaware school has achievedFact|date=June 2007.
*In 1994, Salesianum's football team defeated Bethlehem Catholic from Bethlehem, PA in one of the greatest upsets in school history. Bethlehem Catholic's quarterback, Dan Kendra, was widely regarded as the #1 high school quarterback in the U.S. and went on to play the position at Florida State University before tearing his ACL and being moved to fullback.Fact|date=November 2007
