Tym De Santo (born Timothy Michael De Santo) is a final three
cast member fromHGTV 's hit reality show "Design Star " season one. De Santo was born in Corydon, IN to parents Charles (Pasquale) and Norma De Santo. From early years Tym showed a strong bent toward creativity and athletics riding motorcycles at the age of 9 years and racing whitewater kayaks at the age of 15 years.De Santo went on to compete as a freestyle skier as well as attending the Bollitieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Tym soon shifted his attention full-time to ski-racing and went on to race professionally for a short time before moving on to adventure skiing.
De Santo added singer/songwriter to his creative endeavors and in 1998 and 1999 his bands, "Twenty Four Seven" and "Visual Purple" won National Music Showcases playing for
record industry A&R rep's inNashville, Tennessee .De Santo is also an award winning
fine art ist having exhibited his photography and sculptural furniture in top national juried events across the United States.In 2006 De Santo was cast as one of ten finalists, (out of 1500+) on the
HGTV show "Design Star " for its inaugural summer 2006 season. He went on to finish number three behind Alice Fakier and the eventual winner David Bromstad.De Santo is currently the host of the "Style File" show for
World Market Center in Las Vegas, NV and is represented by the Commercial Talent agency in West Hollywood, California.
