Oakwood Cemetery located at 200 South Leawood, opened on June 1, 1872 as the city cemetery of Parsons, Kansas, USA. Three hundred seventy-five American Civil War veterans who came to Parsons as settlers after the war are buried in a special section which they bought in 1886. They named it Antietam Circle. This portion of the cemetery contains a gazebo and Civil War memorial statues.
