Joseph Richardson (British politician)

Joseph Richardson (1755–1803) was a British politician and writer who was a founding member of the Whig Club (1784). [Clayton, C. (2004). Richardson, Joseph (1755–1803). "Oxford Dictionary of National Biography", Oxford University Press.] Born at Hexham, Northumberland, he was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge in 1774. Richardson was admitted as a student to the Middle Temple in 1781 while continuing to work as a Whig journalist. Richardson represented the borough of Newport in Cornwall.
