Brian Potter , and is part of the club's organising committee. Quite often Jerry is horrified and shows great opposition to Potter's thrifty ways, especially when it comes to Potter cutting corners in the running of the club.In the second series of the club, Jerry's role as a fall guy is further shown. When the Phoenix Club is destroyed by arson and goes out of business, he is forced to find work in his local

But this is shown as a sham across the series, when it becomes apparent that Potter still has true control of the club, and is using Jerry as licencee to satisfy the local authorities. However, the story takes a twist in the final episode when Potter is offered the chance to have his licence back, but feels that Jerry should stay as he has done a good job.
